Melissa Bui SS16
In a new editorial I shot for Rhea Magazine, I got to do my first ever proper studio shoot. Needless to say, I was really nervous for this, so I had the studio booked for half a day (6 hours) to make sure I had everything properly set up and ready before the model and MUA came.
We had these beautiful dresses by Melissa Bui from her Spring/Summer 2016 collection, featuring exaggerated bows and hand-sewn coral embellishments. I loved the white gown with the silver coral designs at the bottom. And in a really short time (I think 40 minutes?), we were done with shooting all the looks! I love how these turned out and am definitely more confident in studio lighting now - though I know I've still got lots of work and experience to go through! I love the convenience and control that shooting in a studio gives me, but right now, I still prefer natural lighting and being able to shoot with a really interesting backdrop (which we can also do with studios, but it'll cost a ton).
