This was my second time ever using flash for a shoot - and boy was it a fun challenge. Usually on a day with good weather, I would take advantage of the sunlight and head out to do a really 'pretty' shoot (you know, the ones with big dresses and flowy hair). But since today's shoot with Emma was really last-minute (I called her an hour beforehand) and it was way to hot to shoot outdoors, we decided to stay in and try something different.
I was inspired by this Vogue China Collections Editorial from 2014 and Terry Richardson's work to do something more grunge/rebellious/bold that my usual. I just wanted to do something different and more improvisational, and I think my ideas definitely translated into the photos. I love doing shoots like this and it really fuels my passion. (Thank you Eemee for putting up with me!)
Hope you like these pics too!
