Chiang Mai 2015 Photo Diary
I agree, Chiang Mai isn't a conventional getaway destination - but it's not too far, not too hot, not too expensive, not too many people, and it's got elephants and tigers! (I like animals)
Honestly, I highly recommend Chiang Mai for your next short holiday (around 3-4 days will do). There's lots of temples and nature to see, and also loads of different outdoor activities like zip lining, archery, hiking and don't forget the (not so) wild animals!
For this family break we stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel, which is right in the city center and only a few minutes walk to the night market (where everything is). The property is really big, but still breathtakingly beautiful (as you can see in the photo above). Everyone at the hotel was kind-hearted and were willing to help and answer the numerous (stupid) questions my mom had. There was so much to do even within the hotel area, it was just like a resort!
I can't wait to go back again next time!
