That's honestly the average time I need for a shoot of 3 outfits. I know it's considered pretty quick, but hey - why spend so much time on something that can be done within minutes? Most models and clients I work with are pretty shocked when I tell them this. I usually get a feeling that they get quite skeptical about me and are concerned about how the photos turned out. Luckily, I'm pretty good at what I do and I make sure to get the shots I need before wrapping up a shoot. (And usually my clients are pretty happy with the photos - and are subsequently surprised that I pulled it of at such a fast pace.)
Some of my other friends (models, photographers, make up artists) tell me they spend hours on a shoot. I mean, if the shoot involves lots of elaborate sets or outfits, or requires lots of touching up or styling, then sure. But if it's a simple test shoot or even just an editorial then you really shouldn't need to spend hours. Or am I doing something wrong?
Maybe I should've gone to art school to learn about this. Just maybe.
(But at least right now it works for me!)
