As I mentioned in my previous post, I'm currently in New York City with Mildred, Kody and Audrey. For those of you who don't know, Mildred runs a fashion blog called "The Undercover Giraffe", and given that we were in the capital of fashion (and had spare time in the mornings before shops opened), we decided to shoot a few outfit posts.
This shoot was done right around the corner of our Airbnb at 105th Street on Broadway. As you can see, this location was virtually perfect as the backdrop for this monochromatic and geometric outfit. Given that it was around 10am in the Upper West Side, the streets were relatively empty and we were able to use as much space as we wanted without inconveniencing passersby. (Usually when shooting in a busy street, I'll apologise to at least 20 people for blocking their way).
Thinking back, I've known Mildred for over 3 years now and have done countless number of shoots together. I've always adored her quirky personality and warm weirdness, and I'm so proud of how much she's grown and developed her sense of style and aesthetic. We had a conversation today about her Instagram theme, and it really struck me how much she's evolved since I first met her. She'll be moving to London this coming September to start uni, so I'll be losing another friend in Hong Kong :( - I guess that means I'll have to go to London more often!
Hang on tight - there will be more posts coming very soon...
