A short but exceptionally fun weekend in the beautiful city of Taipei.

Here are a few Instagram pics from my weekend trip to Taipei with Ed. We were blessed to have had a sunny (and relatively dry) weekend in this typically rainy city. It was Ed's first time in Taiwan so I was super eager to show him around town.
We spent the first few hours watching the sunset from Taipei 101, followed with a short visit to Ruohe Night market. The second night was spent entirely at Shilin Night Market, where we both had lots of fun shooting BB guns, flying darts and fishing for goldfish and shrimps. Even though Ed wasn't that much of a fan for stinky tofu, he quite enjoyed the other foods at the night market and was definitely pleased with his first visit to Taipei.
During our trip, we stayed at the chateau-inspired Mandarin Oriental hotel, which was amazing enough to be an attraction itself. It was a rather quiet property for MO standards, which made for an abundance of staff keen to help us with any queries we had. The small lobby and quiet hallways made it seem like a private mansion, and the intricate floral details in the walls of rooms and along the inside of the elevator added a modern touch. Everything corner of the hotel was breathtaking, and our room was no exception. Dressed in white, gold and emerald, our room stunned with classic French décor, statement art pieces and a beautiful full-marble bathroom that housed the most perfect bathtub I had ever come across. Although the chandeliers and designs of some of the lights and control panels weren't all my cup of tea, I was thoroughly impressed with everything at this property - especially the outdoor swimming pool!
Taipei is super close to Hong Kong, so hopefully we'll be able to make a few more visits to there this year!
